Savannah Crawford Blog Post #3

“In My Own Words” is a book written by Toya Wright who is an American reality television personality, businesswoman and author. I picked this image because I feel as though I can relate to some of the words that are listed above. On the cover of her book is a photo of her looking away with words in black and white outlining her body. The title, “In My Words...My REALity” is a great description of the things that she has faced in her life. The red writing in the word “reality” which points out the word “real” also signifies how honest she will be in her writing. Real, in this sense, is defined as being blunt and open about the things she has endured. It also signifies how she has learned to become a better woman as well as a better mother. The look on her face could mean that she is confident, willing and determined to overcome the things that have happened and will happen, and she will be ready for what the future brings.                                                                                                     Just from prior knowledge and from following her on social sites, Ms. Wright has experienced a lot. She was once married to the world renown rapper, Lil Wayne as she just recently ended a marriage with Mickey Wright. As you can see, on her body the word “wife” is written in black just below her right shoulder. This word indicates that in the book she could possibly talk about her marriages. On her right arm, in white writing, she has the words, “mother” and “daughter”. As stated before, from prior knowledge and watching her on television, being a fan of hers on social media, Ms. Wright is a dedicated, loving mother who will go beyond limits for her daughter to make sure that she is well taken care of. So, in her book I am confident that she will discuss that. The word “strength” is written in white and is the largest word on her body. It stands out the most because throughout all of her life, whether good or bad, Ms. Wright has displayed and I believe will continue to display what it’s like to be strong. I do think that, she will define these very words on the silhouette of her body, in her own words throughout her writing.
